Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is a 2018 jukebox musical romantic comedy picture written and directed past Ol Parker, from a story past Parker, Catherine Johnson, and Richard Curtis. Due to the fiscal success of the first motion picture, Universal Pictures had long been interested in a sequel. The picture was officially appear in May 2017, with Parker hired to write and directly. In June 2017, many of the original bandage confirmed their involvement, with James being cast in the role of Immature Donna that July. Filming took place from Baronial to December 2017 in Republic of croatia (nearly prominently Vis), Bordeaux, Stockholm, Oxford, Hampton and at Shepperton Studios. Following Sam's difference, Donna is visited by Tanya and Rosie, who cheer her up past singing with her as Donna and the Dynamos ("Mamma Mia"). While they are gone, Sam returns, having ended his engagement for Donna, but is saddened to hear that she is with another man. In the present, Sophie opens up to Rosie and Tanya near her conflict with Sky and Rosie explains to Sophie how she and Bill bankrupt up ("Angel Eyes"). Meanwhile, Beak, Harry, and Heaven leave their ventures abroad to support Sophie but are told there are no boats to Kalokairi. Nonetheless, a much older Alexio recognises Bill and offers the trio safety boat passage to the island equally gratitude for saving his relationship. Pecker convinces the others to bring together them for a party on Kalokairi. When the guests arrive ("Dancing Queen"), Bill and Rosie quickly reunite over their mutual grief over Donna'southward death, and Sophie reveals to Sky that she is pregnant, and she has never felt closer to her mother.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Once again was announced on May 19, 2017, with a release date of July 20, 2018.[x] It was written and directed by Ol Parker.[11] On September 27, 2017, Benny Andersson confirmed 3 ABBA songs that would be featured in the film: "When I Kissed the Teacher," "I Wonder (Deviation)," and "Angeleyes."[12] "I Wonder (Departure)" was cut from the motion picture, simply is included on the soundtrack album.

On review assemblage website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 79% based on 278 reviews, and an average of 6.3/10. The website's critical consensus reads, "Mamma Mia! Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian termed the sequel as "weirdly irresistible" and gave it 3 out of five stars. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone awarded the flick two and a half stars out of five, noting the absence of Streep for the bulk of the picture show hindered his enjoyment, and saying, "her absenteeism is deeply felt since the three-time Oscar winner sang and danced her heart out as Donna Sheridan".[50] Lindsay Bahr of Associated Printing awarded the film three out of iv stars, calling information technology "wholly ridiculous", but complimenting its self-awareness. Sequel [edit]

In June 2020, Judy Craymer appear that a third picture is in development, with the producer confirming that some of the new ABBA songs written for the band's reunion could feature in the soundtrack, although stating that the COVID-xix pandemic has caused delays with development of the project.[54] Later on months of postponement, ABBA released their new album Voyage in November 2021.
